Formed in Buffalo in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls developed from punk and alternative roots into a widely recognized pop-rock band. Led by vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, the group built a lasting catalog across more than a dozen studio albums. Their 1998 release, Dizzy Up the Girl, produced enduring hits including “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon.”
“Iris” became a defining song for the band and a signature live moment, while earlier and later favorites such as “Name,” “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine” show the range of their catalog. The group's 2022 album, Chaos in Bloom, added newer material to a set of songs that has connected with generations of listeners. Their emotionally direct songwriting and guitar-led performances give familiar choruses plenty of room to become audience singalongs.
The Pittsburgh date is part of the event billed as Def Leppard, Goo Goo Dolls & The Struts. The supplied event information does not identify a separate tour name or additional opening acts beyond the listed lineup.
